Scoot business class review

About Scoot

Scoot is a low-cost carrier owned by Singapore Airlines (SIA). They focus on medium and long-haul routes with a fleet composed of Boeing 787s.

Buying ticket

The difference in price between the economy fare and their business class (ScootBiz) is pretty small. Apart from the small difference in price, you also get an increase in baggage allowance, a meal, an alcoholic beverage, priority check-in and boarding, and some other perks.
Scoot has two types of Boeing 787s, namely the Boeing 787-8 and 787-9. Both types follows the 2-3-2 seating arrangement. The difference is that the 787-8 only has 21 business class seats while the 787-9 has 35. The seats are all located at the front of the plane.

At the airport

There are a couple of desks dedicated to ScootBiz passengers. The queue for ScootBiz passengers are pretty quick as regular check-in desks are also taking in ScootBiz passengers as well as economy passengers. Do note that the boarding pass will not indicate that you are in the premium cabin and there is no lounge access. This means that ScootBiz passengers are not able to queue at the premium queue.

Pre-departure

Remember to board on time and ScootBiz passengers will be called to board first before the economy passengers.

In the plane

Seats are rather comfortable and large for this price point.
Charging ports are also available in-between the seats to charge your electronic devices.
Upon boarding, a warm sealed cup of water is provided for ScootBiz passengers as a pre-departure beverage, on top of the included alcoholic beverage.

In flight

A meal is included free for ScootBiz passengers and do note that outside food are not allowed during flights. On top of the free meal, ScootBiz passengers are also provided with free inflight streaming entertainment that you can play on your device (Paid service for economy passengers). Although the list of shows are not extensive, it is good enough to last through flights. Do note that WiFi is not free even for ScootBiz passengers.

Earning KrisFlyer miles

Scoot participates in the KrisFlyer program and you must purchase the "PlusPerks" bundle in order to earn miles on a Scoot flight. KrisFlyer miles can also be exchange for vouchers that can be applied to Scoot flights.

Conclusion

Overall, ScootBiz provides a nice and comfortable experience with not a steep increase in price from the economy class. However, small but impactful perks such as "unlimited" plain water for ScootBiz passengers could be provided for passengers who fly long hauls as the cup of water provided during pre-departure is definitely not enough to last through hours of flight. Enjoy Scooting!

Scoot airlines seats review

Scoot airlines seats review Scoot currently operates the Boeing 787 dreamliners as well the Airbus 320 and both fleets offer different seats to cater to different needs of flyers. Standard seats Boeing 787 Airbus 320 As compared to other budget airlines/low cost carriers, the seats at Scoot airlines are considered quite roomy with an average seat pitch of 31" and width of 18". However, do note that there are no headrest for the standard seats as they are only offered in the "higher end" seats. So please bring along some cushion for your head if you are flying long haul. Super seats Super seats provides 30% more legroom with a 34" seat pitch and an adjustable headrest is included. For me, the premium I have to pay when I upgraded it from standard seats to super seats is around SGD $27 as I flew long haul from Singapore to Australia. The cost of upgrading your seats is lower for shorter distance flights. Although you have to pay a higher pr

Scoot airlines review

Scoot's fleet Scoot currently operates a fleet of Boeing 787 after phasing out all of its Boeing 777 aircrafts acquired from Singapore Airlines (SIA). Similar to other low-cost carriers/budget airlines, you pay for seating arrangement, baggage, food, in-flight entertainment, etc. Carry-on baggage is restricted to 7kg with an additional 3kg for laptop. Advantage of flying with Scoot Prices are often competitive and they often have promotions with prices that are almost unbeatable. Do check out their Facebook page for upcoming promotions. Booking Due to the competitive pricing they offer, I do not expect high standards in terms of customer service from the airline. In fact, there are many complains on their Facebook page regarding their customer service standards. Booking a flight is a breeze on their website. Just choose your desired dates of travel, indicate your origin and destination and they will display the prices for neighbouring dates (plus point) as well a
